Hi, I’m Kaitlyn Martinez, but most people know me as Kat. I’m a 23-year-old artist, gamer, and aspiring game designer passionate about crafting immersive experiences. Growing up, I was always drawn to creativity—whether through sketching character designs, painting, or analyzing the mechanics of my favorite games. As my love for video games and esports grew, I discovered a deeper passion: game creation. I realized that I didn’t just want to play games—I wanted to design worlds, create engaging mechanics, and bring ideas to life.
Since 2019, I’ve been actively working toward this goal, gaining experience in 3D modeling, animation, and level design with tools like Maya, Mudbox, and Unreal Engine. While I’ve explored various aspects of game development, my passion lies in level design and crafting engaging, interactive worlds that captivate players.
Currently, I’m pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Animation and Game Design at Keiser University while competing as an esports player in Valorant and Rainbow Six Siege. Balancing academics, competitive gaming, and personal projects has pushed me to develop strong time management and adaptability skills. Despite the challenges, I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA and am in the process of developing my first fully functional indie game, which I plan to launch on Steam.
Beyond my studies and esports career, I stay engaged in the gaming industry by exploring new technologies, collaborating with creators, and contributing to game development communities. These experiences have sharpened my skills and deepened my passion for game design. I’m excited to merge my creative and competitive gaming background to craft immersive levels, refine mechanics, and push creative boundaries. The challenges I’ve faced have made me a disciplined, determined individual ready to make an impact. Let’s build something unforgettable together!

I have extensive experience working with industry-standard tools like Unreal Engine, where I specialize in creating dynamic game levels and immersive environments. My proficiency in Maya enables me to craft detailed 3D models and animations, while Substance Painter allows me to create realistic textures that bring my designs to life. In addition, I’m skilled in using Adobe Photoshop for graphic design, After Effects for motion graphics and animations, and Illustrator for vector artwork. These tools give me the versatility to handle everything from creating stunning visuals to designing engaging user interfaces and game assets.
